CEF instrument, Crystallization Elution Fractionation, is based on a new crystallization concept combining the power of CRYSTAF and TREF to get the separation of the different components of the polyolefin in significantly lower time.

The Instrument is equipped with an autosampler, which performs the sample preparation in a fully automated way, from dissolution to the injection into the CEF column. After the injection, a dynamic crystallization cycle and then a fast elution cycle are performed by the Instrument to measure the resulting solution in the concentration detector (Polymer Char’s IR4)

Depending on the analysis conditions applied and the desired resolution, results can be obtained in time periods as low as 30 minutes per sample.
