Other detectors can be used with Polymer Char’s CEF Instrument in line with the infrared detector:
A composition sensor or a carbonyl sensor can be placed in the infrared detector IR4 to measure the number of CH3/1000C or the CO content in EVA type resins and others correspondingly. Composition and concentration are measured simultaneously.
By connecting a capillary viscometer to a CEF, the bulk Intrinsic Viscosity (IV) is measured, and therefore results on the Molar Mass tendency versus the CCD curve can be obtained.
A Light Scattering detector connected to a CEF instrument allows the measurement of the absolute Molar Mass tendency curve versus the Chemical Composition Distribution results.
The Light Scattering detector used is the DAWN HELEOS™ II of Wyatt Technology (8 angles).
