Cross-fractionation analysis is performed by a Polymer Char’s CFC Instrument, developed to measure the Bivariate Distribution by analytical TREF fractionation and subsequent online GPC analysis of the fractions, obtaining 3D plots as well as the recovered TREF and GPC profiles, in a single analysis by using an infrared detector (IR4).

The polymer is fractionated by crystallinity using a TREF analysis at increasing temperature steps, that can be taken at any temperature (including subambient), and fractions are automatically injected into GPC columns.
