Preparative Fractionation by Molar Mass

Molar Mass fractionation is based on the solvent interaction with the polymer chains and it is typically performed at isothermal conditions by modifying the solvent power through a solvent-non solvent combination.

In this fractionation method, samples are dissolved and then stabilized at the fractionation temperature. Then a decreasing percentage of non-solvent, in the solvent-non solvent combination, is added for each fraction. After each step the dissolved part is what will be filtrated and collected and will correspond to the different Molar Mass fractions.
